Then we’ve got a great internship opportunity for you! We are currently looking for part-time content marketing interns who can help our tourism marketing team during the fall/winter of 2024-25. The time commitment can be flexible depending upon your school’s internship requirements.

This internship will focus on creating amazing regional content that covers topics ranging from hiking in the Adirondacks to dining in Albany. You will write articles, manage event updates, create seasonal guide content, assist our team with promoting regional businesses, and more.

This is a remote position, but it is crucial that candidates are located in the region of Upstate New York that we cover, including Albany, Saratoga, Glens Falls, Lake George, and/or the Adirondacks. In your cover letter, please tell us a bit about your connection to the area.

Responsibilities:

  • Create timely articles about upcoming events, business openings, and other regional news
  • Work within an editorial calendar to research, write, and publish evergreen content that appeals to both locals and visitors alike
  • Resize and optimize relevant photos to coordinate with online articles, guides and blog posts, coordinating image permissions and utilizing proper citations as needed
  • Follow a style guide to adopt an appropriate writing style and tone necessary to connect with different audiences
  • Monitor and assist with events calendar management, including editing user submitted events and creating enhanced event build-outs
  • Assist in taking beautiful photographs of the region that would be incorporated into various online articles, guides, email newsletters, social media, etc.
  • Foster a positive community spirit for locals, tourists, small businesses, and nonprofits in the areas represented
  • Channel your organizational skills to help the team with a variety of tasks
  • Administrative duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Data entry in admin system and project management software
    • Keeping task list current, populated with notes and up to date
    • Daily time clocking and tracking of assignments

Ideal Candidates:

  • You love to write and are really good at it
  • You’re a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student
  • You have some familiarity with WordPress and HTML
  • You’re interested in learning a little about SEO and digital marketing
  • You’re detail oriented
  • You like working in a fast-paced environment
  • You have strong regional knowledge of the Capital/Saratoga Region and/or Adirondacks
