Keeping your website up-to-date with fresh information is great for two main reasons: First, your website visitors get bored very quickly- they need something new to keep them engaged with your message. Second, the more often you update your website, the more often Google will visit your website to crawl and index your new content. In essence, Google likes to see that your website is alive and pumping out fresh information!
How frequently you update your website will certainly depend on your industry, though we recommend giving the content on your pages a fresh update at least once per year. This does not have to be a major overhaul of the existing content- no not at all. Rather, this is going through your website to make sure that your content is up-to-date with what potential customers want to see, and that it accurately conveys your latest offerings. If you currently have a blog on your website, you’re already set-up to add new content on a regular basis.
From a design perspective, your website’s design should be updated every 5-6 years to maintain an edge over your competitors and stay current with the latest trends in web design. The way people interact with websites is always changing, which means that your website’s design needs to meet their ever-evolving needs!
