Are you in the market for video? If you don’t know the first thing about creating a video, you’re not alone. Most businesses who have a great looking video on their website don’t do it in-house. They come to a skilled marketing agency and consult with someone like me.
Here is a step-by-step guide offering a glimpse into the video creation process so you know just what to expect.
STEP 1: Initial Meeting
Collaboration is key! All video projects start with an initial meeting to get a clear idea of the goals of the video. This helps us deliver the best possible video to meet your company goals and ultimately boost sales.
Some of the questions we ask:
- What product or service do you want to focus on?
- Who is your intended audience?
- Where will these videos be shown?
These questions are important in shaping a video that will drive traffic to your website, highlight new products or services, and grow your business. We draft a video project outline to make conceptualizing the video easier.
STEP 2: Set And Sign
We fine tune the video production outline and the contract is sent out for you to sign and return.
STEP 3: Let The Production Begin
The production is the fun and exciting part! Each client offers a unique vision, and each video project is different. Depending on your venue and video goals, we might be shooting outdoors or indoors, products on shelves, interviewing the owners, or any number of things… or all of the above!
For Barkeater Chocolates in North Creek, New York, I visited the store for an interview with the owners. They wanted the video to sound genuine and to also highlight their new Valentine’s Day products. In the end, they ended up with a great new video accompanied by a stunning response on social media, and plenty of attention and resulting business. (Plus, I walked away with some chocolaty sweets on the house!)
STEP 4: Getting It Right
Before the video is ready for the world, it takes some fine tuning to mold and shape in post-production. We send a draft of the video to finalize your vision and make sure the video is aligned with your goals. Back and forth communication and tweaks lead to the best video possible, and you feel confident knowing it is exactly right.
STEP 5: Ready, Set, Promote
Once you are happy with the end result, the video can be posted to Facebook or highlighted on your website (often both) or used on YouTube or wherever your marketing strategy desires. More importantly, your video can begin generating new leads for you, converting into more sales for your business!
